Minzu University of China (MUC) is one of China’s most important comprehensive universities, and is one of the 38 key universities receiving direct support from the Chinese government. In 2013, MUC was selected in the International Education Base Project for international students studying in China initiated by Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. Focusing on Humanities and featured by Ethnic Studies, MUC has a comprehensive set of disciplines covering liberal arts, science, engineering, medical science, management, education, economics, politics, law, arts and physical education. MUC has 23 colleges offering 64 undergraduate programs, 140 master programs, and 40 doctoral programs. Its Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, Ethnology, Chinese Ethnic Minority Languages and Literature, and Chinese Ethnic Minority Arts rank the top in China and are well-known globally. Among 15737 full-time students, 54% are ethnic minorities. MUC is a microcosm of the big family of Chinese ethnic groups, and it is the only university in China where all of China’s 56 ethnic groups are represented in its faculty and student body. Each year, over 800 international students from more than 40 countries study at MUC.
